Getting married..? Come and see us!

Planning a wedding is super exciting but it can also be rather daunting as there are so many decisions to make, suppliers to research, costs to consider... Well fear not, wedding fair season is upon us and I've rounded up some of the best open days in the area for the next month.

I'm only exhibiting at one of them but I have many friends and respected colleagues within the wedding industry, many of whom are appearing at one or more of these events. So this way, I get to share the love - and also the info - to best benefit suppliers, venues and of course, you lucky brides to be!

Things kick off with Peak Tipis on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th October at Beehive Farm, Rosliston. They're doing things a bit differently by opening later on the Saturday (3pm-9pm) so guests can see the tipis in all their twinkling glory. Handpicked suppliers (including me!) will dress the tipis as though it were an actual wedding so that you'll be able to get a real feel for the intimate atmosphere that these amazing structures can invoke. Beehive Farm is part of the National Forest and provides a stunning setting for a countryside wedding and allows you a blank canvas to design your special day - or weekend! Peak Tipis are inviting couples and their family on both days so you can pop over on Sunday 8th (11am-3pm) as well. There is no entry fee but if you want to speak to one of the Peak Tipi Team, I would advise booking a timed slot on their website.

Also on Sunday 8th, there is the Wedding Event with a Difference at the Roundhouse in Derby (10am-3pm) and the fabulous team at Tissington Hall open their doors & marquee 11am-3pm.

It's free entry to Tissington Hall and you'll be able to try some delicious samples from three fabulous caterers onsite: Red Olive, Saffron Catering and Uppercrust. You''ll be able to meet Sir Richard and see the beautiful Hall and gardens as well as the wedding arboretum pavilion, packed with great local wedding suppliers.

The Wedding Event with a Difference is hosted by Save The Date magazine and is a ticketed event (£6 each) with interactive seminars, catwalk shows and a Prosecco Parlour. There will be over 80 wedding suppliers, so one of the bigger events happening this month.

Then it is the turn of The Giant Wedding Show at Osmaston Park on Sunday 15th October (my birthday!). This is another large event, hosted by Hannah & Ben of HBA Photography, with up to 80 high quality suppliers in Osmaston's fabulous marquee. Overlooking park-lands, the lake and rolling Derbyshire hills, the setting is simply stunning. Tickets are £2 in advance or £5 (cash) on the door.

And to round off October's wedding fairs across the region, we have two events both hosted by Honeysuckle & Castle at two gorgeous National Trust properties. Firstly on Sunday 22nd, Hardwick Hall is host to over 30 local wedding suppliers, then on Sunday 29th, it is the turn of The Old Parsonage at Clumber Park. Both are free events but in order to avoid National Trust car park fees, the organisers advise you to pre-book via their website.

So what are you waiting for?! Six of the best local wedding shows in October with helpful & friendly wedding experts ready to advise and help you plan your special day. Follow the links I've provided for more detailed information about each event and I wish you a magical and stress-free wedding.
