Christmas cupcakes

Mmm, Christmas Tree cupcakes, what a fabulous excuse for a huge dollop of buttercream! In this case, it is my absolute favourite, salted caramel buttercream swirled into a tree shape on top of a spiced apple cupcake then decorated with gold & silver balls and dusted with spiced glittery 'snow'. In the background you can see Santa Hats - a slightly healthier option of fresh strawberries stuck onto the cupcakes with a blob of fresh cream and topped with a mini meringue.

I'm planning to make some chocolate reindeer cupcakes this week using pretzels as antlers and maybe some marshmallow snowman cupcakes... and some 'Frozen' inspired snowflake ones... and...
